Services

The Ashaway Ambulance Association is a private, non-profit emergency medical provider that has served the community since 1971. We provide basic and advanced life support care to residents, businesses, and visitors within the Ashaway, Hopkinton City, and Bradford sections of Hopkinton, RI.

The importance of a rapid ambulance response and outstanding prehospital care during a medical emergency has been well-documented. You can take a few small steps to help us get to you and start care in the event of an emergency.

We remind you to make sure your house numbers are clearly marked. Houses that are clearly marked improve response times. House address markers on mailboxes, curbs or homes need to be easily read from the street during day or night. Place numbers where they are clearly visible from the street. Please ensure numbers are never blocked by trees, shrubs, or other objects. If you live in an apartment complex, check the numbers on your building and contact the complex manager if they need to be made more visible. Place any animals in an isolated area and be sure to allow clear walkways for providers to gain access to all areas of your house.

When dialing 911, do not panic. Clearly answer the dispatchers questions and be sure to speak slowly and clearly. Expect to be asked the location of the emergency and the nature of the emergency. Remember, even though the dispatcher may still be speaking with you, help may be already in route to your location. Do not hang up until instructed to do so. Follow all instructions from the dispatcher so long as it is safe to do so.

Teaching your child how and when to use 911 is a valuable skill. Attached are two informative links that can be printed and used at your disposal.
